We’re Raising The Standard For What Trusted Childcare Looks Like
CHILDCARE YOU CAN COUNT ON

Our Story
The Babysitting Service was founded in 2024 by Drew, Katie, and Jordyn, three women who grew up on Nantucket and share a deep love for the island and its community. After years of caring for children across the island and beyond, we saw a gap: families, both local and visiting, needed a dependable, safe, and heart-led babysitting option they could truly trust.
Our trained, CPR certified professionals provide nurturing, respectful, and attentive care—so you can feel confident knowing your children are in capable hands. Whether it’s a one-time booking or recurring support, The Babysitting Service is here to meet your family’s needs with warmth, professionalism, and care that feels personal.
Our Background
Drew, Katie, and Jordyn are lifelong Nantucket locals who bring a unique blend of personal and professional experience to The Babysitting Service. With over a decade of hands-on childcare experience each, their backgrounds span early childhood education, psychology, and social work, giving them a deep understanding of children’s needs at every stage.
As biracial women raised on the island, they’re proud to create a service that reflects the values of trust, inclusivity, and community. Their shared mission is to provide families with high-quality, heart-centered care that’s both dependable and deeply rooted in the Nantucket way of life.
Our Approach
Our approach is rooted in compassion, professionalism, and a deep respect for every family we serve. We believe that great childcare goes beyond supervision, it’s about building trust, creating meaningful connections, and nurturing each child’s growth in a safe and engaging environment.
Every sitter on our team is CPR certified and carefully vetted, ensuring families feel confident and supported from the very first booking. Whether it’s playtime, story time, or helping with routines, we bring warmth, structure, and attentiveness to every interaction because your peace of mind is our top priority.
Our Team
Meet the women behind The Babysitting Service—Drew, Katie, and Jordyn. As Nantucket natives with professional backgrounds in education, psychology, and social work, they bring years of childcare experience and a deep commitment to families on the island.

Drew Moore
Drew is a proud Nantucket native with a lifelong passion for caregiving. Since the age of 10, she’s been the trusted go-to sitter for families across Nantucket, New York, and Boston—known for her calm energy, reliability, and natural ability to connect with kids of all ages (from 4 months to 16 years). She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from NYU, a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Manhattanville College, and is a licensed social worker and CPR-certified. She’s also an active member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at Nantucket New School. Drew’s approach blends structure with heart, always tuning into each child’s emotional needs. When she’s not with families, she’s soaking in a beautiful island sunset, getting a workout in, reading something new, or enjoying good food and great company.

Katie Fox
Katie has been caring for children for over 14 years, bringing a joyful, grounded presence to every family she works with. Originally from Nantucket, she’s provided childcare both on the island and in Boston, with deep experience supporting children from ages 1 to 12. Katie graduated from UMass Amherst with her degree in both Early Childhood Education and Sociology and a minor in Psychology. She is a licensed teacher with SEI endorsement and CPR certification. She believes in creating calm, engaging environments where kids can feel seen and supported. Outside of work, she’s often catching up with friends, curled up with a good book, or spending time with her close-knit family.

Jordyn Perry
Jordyn is a warm, attentive caregiver who brings heart and intention to every interaction. A Nantucket local, she began babysitting at 12 and quickly became known for her patience, attentiveness, and strong sense of responsibility. With a Psychology degree from Bridgewater State and experience working in both Nantucket and Bridgewater Public Schools, she brings valuable insight into child development and communication. Jordyn is CPR-certified and loves helping children feel safe, supported, and empowered to be themselves. In her free time, you’ll find her lifting weights at the gym, enjoying quiet time with family, or getting lost in a good book.
